BIRTHDAY PARTY FAQS

Our Birthday Adventures last ~3.5-4 hours, and progress in the following order:

  • Birthday Guests arrive 15 minutes before the reservation start/booked time
(ie. If you schedule a 9:45am party, the party invite should call for guests to arrive at 9:30am)
  • 30 minute orientation-check-in, safety briefing, harnessing + practice
(ie. training starts at booked time of 9:45 am)
  • ~2.5+ hours of climbing time.
(i.e. climbers can start their last trail any time before 12:45 pm. Trails can take 15-40 min. to complete depending on level of difficulty.)
  • 15-45 minutes after climbing for food and cake.
Tables are reserved in the park for the entire duration of the party- 4 hours from the orientation/booked start time. Some groups climb as long as possible and eat after the climb time is over, while others set up food buffet style and climbers can grab food in between trails. Groups that eat in between trails generally save cake/cupcakes for the end once everyone is finished climbing and all together.
  • We typically recommending setting an end time of 3.5-4 hours from the start time (e.g. 1:15-1:45). Parents who arrive early are welcome to hang out at your picnic table area while climbers wrap up.
  • Important: If you would like to serve cake or food before your scheduled climb time, please notify our office staff in advance and we will do our best to accommodate this request. Please note, serving food before your reserved climb time will change the invitation start time of your party. We do not recommend this for most groups as it does impact the flow of the day and our regular operations.

NO… Birthday parties do not include a birthday party coordinator. We recommend that you arrive 15-20 minutes before your guests to allow yourself time to get settled + set up.

When you arrive to the course, our staff will look up your reservation, check to make sure we have waivers on file for all climbers, and provide you with goodie bags + a “Birthday Party Necessities Kit”. Our staff will also show you where your assigned picnic tables will be in the course.

You are then welcome to drive your car closer to the course to set up your picnic table(s). Staff in the course will be happy to assist you in unloading your car and carrying items to the tables. After your tables are set up, please head back up to the check-in area to greet your guests.

Guests of the party will arrive to our check-in area and will stay in our check-in area for Orientation. Please do not direct your guests to head down to our course or to your picnic tables.

Should you need any assistance during the party, please check-in with a member of our staff in orange. We will be happy to answer any questions + assist you!

To ensure a positive climbing experience for all of our guests, we have limited the number of birthday parties per day.

Birthday Parties do tend to sell out. We recommend booking as soon as you have a date and time in mind.

In general, it is best to book a party at least 1 month in advance to give your guests time to plan for your party.

Tickets are required for all climbers.

Our Birthday party package is available for 10 or more climbers including any adults climbing with the group.

We strongly recommend the following ratios of adult (18+):youth climbers:

  • 8-12 climbing kids: 2 climbing adults
  • 13-16 climbing kids: 3 climbing adults
  • 17+ climbing kids: 4+ climbing adults

TreeTop Adventures uses a state-of-the-art harness & clip system that provides an independent climbing experience for all climbers. Our staff is stationed throughout the park on the ground available to provide help and guidance as needed when climbers call for “staff”.  Adults climbing with your party provide consistent support in the trees as youth learn the equipment and gain confidence.

Climbing adults (18+) also provide access to “reach trails” for younger climbers. For information about our Trails & Age Restriction Guidelines click here.

When booking your party you must book a minimum of 10 to access the group rate. We suggest err-ing on the side of more tickets reserved than less. Our self-booking system will allow you to book up to 18 tickets (if available). If you are anticipating a larger party, please contact us immediately after booking your group of 18.

It is best to have your climber count finalized with us at least 3 days before your reservation.

If you end up having fewer than 10 climbers on the day of the party or no-shows, we will send you a gift card for the value of the unused tickets. Gift Cards do not expire and can be used towards a future visit.

It is best to have your climber count finalized with us at least 3 days before your reservation.

If you do have last minute add-ons on the day of your party, we will try to accommodate them.

We are often sold out. If you have more than 2 add-ons to your party than was the confirmed amount, those additional tickets will be added at the full-priced general admission rate.

Please be sure a parent/legal guardian signs a waiver for each of your guests BEFORE they arrive to the course in order to keep your party on schedule.

Please call the party for 15 minutes before your scheduled climb time to allow for late-arrivals, restroom, finish waivers etc.

The “booked time” is the time we will start your group’s safety brief.

Depending on the climb time selected, some groups choose to have food + cake before climbing (e.g a 1:45pm birthday). If you would like to serve food/cake before climbing, we recommend calling the party for 1-hr before your designated climb time (i.e. 12:45).

Please note, if arriving before your climb time for cake/food, you MUST notify our office staff in advance so that we can set your picnic table reservation to begin earlier in the day.

For groups eating before their start time, this is an exception to our standard operations. We will do our best to locate your group in a place where we can brief your group in the course. If we are unable to do so, your group may need to head back up to check-in for tickets and briefing.

We strongly recommend having adults climb with the birthday party. Adults climbing with younger kids helps them learn the equipment faster and allows them to access “reach” trails for their age group.

We strongly recommend the following ratios of adult (18+):youth climbers:

  • 8-12 climbing kids: 2 climbing adults
  • 13-16 climbing kids: 3 climbing adults
  • 17+ climbing kids: 4+ climbing adults

We also recommend having an adult on the ground at your designated picnic table who can help set up food/drinks and act as a ground-based touchpoint for your climbers.

For information about what trails are appropriate for specific age groups, please visit our Trail Guidelines Page.

If there are no adults who are able to climb with your group, a Personal Guide can be reserved for $60/hour. Guides climb with the group during the last hour of the party to help children access trails that are considered “reach trails” for their age. Guides are subject to availability and must be reserved up to 3 days in advance.

To learn more about Personal Guides, please visit our Personal Guides Page here. You can contact us at 781-989-5800 to add on a personal guide to your reservation.

If parents of your birthday guests would like to climb with the party, they can do so at the discounted birthday party rate.

If you do not wish to pay for other adults to climb, you can let them know that TreeTop Adventures will honor the group rate and that they can pay for their own ticket when checking-in.

Please email us at least three days in advance with your final climber count. We will add on additional tickets for any adults that want to climb, you can send them the waiver link, and they can pay when your party is checking-in.

To avoid delays in getting your party started, please instruct climbing adults to complete their waiver in advance and arrive a little early to get their payment taken care of.

Guests who arrive late to the party will need to go through a separate safety briefing and practice session. No worries- We offer briefings ~every 15 minutes! Once your guest completes their briefing, they will be able to find your group and join in the fun!

Late arrivals will have less time to climb in the trees.

If a guest is going to arrive between 45min-1hr late, that should still allow enough time to experience a few trails.

If a guest is going to arrive over an hour late, they may enjoy a trail or two and the food/cake portion of the party.

Guests who Arrive 2 hours late will not have enough time to climb. They are still welcome to join your party for food/cake.

When checking-in, please notify the staff member of any late arrivals, and leave their tickets at check-in for the guest(s) to pick up.

Yes! We will have a picnic table reserved for your party but we do not provide paper goods, utensils, food or cake.

Please note: We do not have any storage or refrigeration available, so bring a cooler and ensure food is in secure containers while you are climbing.

Our outdoor tables are wrapped in marine grade vinyl. As they are under the canopy of the trees, they often collect sap or pine needles. Please feel free to bring your own tablecloths, wipes etc.

Here is a list of local food/pizza places that deliver to TreeTop Adventures.

TreeTop Adventures is not responsible for the delivery of food items to the course. To ensure your food is delivered successfully, we request someone in your party is on the ground and ready to receive your order at your scheduled delivery time.

We ask that you instruct the restaurant delivering the food to:

  • Deliver all items to the counter down in the park by our harnessing area and the main platform.
  • Call or text you upon arrival to let you know your delivery has arrived
  • Clearly mark your delivery items if they are leaving it at the counter in harnessing
  • Include payment and gratuity over the phone ahead of time

TreeTop Adventures can still operate in light rain. Depending on the group it can be a blast!

If you plan on climbing in the rain, please arrive dressed for the weather.

If you do not want to have your birthday party in the rain, Please note our Group Cancellation + Rescheduling Policy:

  • Birthday Parties can be cancelled 3 days out from the event with a full refund. Please call us at (781) 989-5800 or email us at [email protected] and we will cancel the reservation and refund your credit card.
  • Birthday Parties that are cancelled within the 3-day timeframe will not be eligible for a refund, however, we can reschedule your party or issue a gift card for the full amount of your reservation, which can be used for a future reservation. Gift Cards never expire. You can cancel your reservation from your reservation dashboard. A Gift Card will be automatically generated and sent to your email address.
  • In the event of extreme weather (thunder/lightning or high winds), the courses may have to temporarily close – similar to a swimming pool – until the weather passes. TreeTop Adventures staff has full discretion on high wind closings and will inform climbers of any closures at the main platform.
  • If we see severe weather in the forecast, we will reach out to you to reschedule or send you a gift card for your party. If a full park closing due to weather occurs during your visit, you will be given the option to extend your ticket time and wait it out (depending on availability), or receive a prorated voucher (depending on the time left in your climb) for your next visit.
  • Groups that are a “no-show” for their reservation on the reserved day/time are not eligible to be refunded or rescheduled.

We only offer a limited number of discounted birthday party packages per day. If there are no timeslots listed on a specific date, it means we are fully booked for birthday party packages on that day.

If you’d like to access the discounted birthday party package, we suggest pushing your party out to a future date that is still available.

If you want to have your party on a date we are fully booked for parties, you are welcome to head over to our “General Admission” Booking Calendar and book a regular General Admission reservation on the :15s of the hour (9:15, 10:15, 11:15, 12:15 etc).

Once the reservation has been booked, please reply to the confirmation email to notify us that it is a birthday party. Please also include who the guest of honor is and how old they are turning.

We will do our best to accommodate your group with picnic tables for the duration of your reservation. We will also provide your guest of honor with a birthday climber shirt & goodie bags for the number of climbers in your group.
